Chad Hershner, President & CEO, Special Olympics Wisconsin, will give us an overview of Special Olympics Wisconsin (SOWI)
The organization provides year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities, giving them continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage and experience joy while participating in a sharing of gifts, skills and friendship with their families, Special Olympics athletes and the community.
Today the 2023 recipients of the funds raised were awarded. The Good Fight Community Center, La Crosse Public Education Foundation, and Hope Restores were all represented and spoke about how those funds will be used in the community.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to Steve Doll as he mourns the passing of his mother, Muriel Doll. Muriel passed away last week and the funeral was last Saturday. CLICK HERE for the obituary.

It has been suggested that we change the name of our Dean's Marbles weekly drawing.

RSVP for Winder Wonderland Showcase
We are now taking RSVP's for our December 14th meeting, The Winter Wonderland Showcase. This tends to be a highly attended meeting with many guests, so the Cargill Room is looking for an approximate number for that day. Please RSVP HERE by Dec. 11.
Winter Wonderland Youth Talent Showcase
Dec. 14 is the annual Winter Wonderland Youth Talent Showcase! Alex Attardo and Katie Berkedal are planning the program and looking for kids to sing, dance or play an instrument.
Songs can be seasonal or anything they have prepared. Please reach out to Alex or Katie soon if you have a young performer!

Rotary Friendship Exchange between District 6250 (Wisconsin) and District 4640 (Brazil State of Parana) is now open to all District 6250 Rotarians. This exchange program includes home and hotel stays, meetings and tours with various Rotary Clubs and Rotarians in Brazil. The return leg will bring Brazilian Rotarians to our District.
The exchange is open to a maximum of 10 interested Rotarians, spouses, and/or family members. If there is an oversubscription or too much interest, we will rely on District 6250 RFE policy parameters to finalize the group. Please note that the policy favors RFE first-timers.
The District 6250 will travel to the 4640 State of Parana Brazil from April 2-12, and District 4640 will visit District 6250 from September 10-20, 2024.

The year is slowly crawling to an end. This is the last week of The Rotary Foundation Month and the beginning of December, the month of Disease Prevention and Treatment in Rotary. While the world continues to register its volumes of catastrophes in terms of wars, natural and manmade disasters, TRF persistently focuses on its basic goals of promoting peace throughout the globe by
improving health, providing education, alleviating poverty and nurturing the environment. Emphasizing what Rotary is all about, its Foundation’s Trustee’s Chair, Barry Rassin, reminds members of all the Rotary efforts that would not be possible without their generosity. In his end of year message, Rotarian Rassin charged members to, “…consider the incredible progress we have achieved in our fight to end polio ---the countless lives we’ve saved and the hope we’ve restored. Think of all the clinics around the world Rotary has equipped and the medical professionals trained through Foundation grants, helping fight heart disease and Guinea worm disease.” Rassin appeals to the benevolent spirit of Rotarians, especially during this season which “is a time of generosity, especially to those less fortunate.” He wants Rotarians the world over to remember that “…gifts to The Rotary Foundation may not fit nicely in a present box, yet they keep on giving throughout the year.” (Barry Rassin. “What Rotary is all about.” Rotary Magazine.
