Tom Schlesinger, Executive Director of the Climate Alliance for the Common Good, presents the newly-released Small Business Climate Toolkit.
This 'toolkit' serves as a one-stop shop for small to medium sized businesses on actions that help the environment while contributing to a healthy bottom-line, and was made possible with financial support from both the Trane Company and the La Crosse Community Foundation.
SPACE is a passionate La Crosse collective comprised of parents and residents dedicated to ensuring the safety and sustainability of our community spaces, particularly playgrounds.
Jamie shared an inspiring journey that started with a student's research project and evolved into a thriving community movement. Her talked delved into the significant findings from the research and the actionable steps taken.
As a result of these discoveries, ongoing efforts are now underway to replace synthetic materials, like recycled rubber, with alternatives that are more environmentally friendly such as wood chips, sand, and grass.
Lunch this week: Roast chicken breast, sundried tomato cream sauce, and grilled vegetable farro.
Vegetarian option is always available, as well as accommodations for other dietary restrictions.

Distribution Event
The La Crosse Community is very excited to once again join forces to help families get their students ready to head Back2School! Rotary Club of La Crosse is putting a team together to help. We need volunteers to walk with families and their supply list through an assembly line to gather supplies. There are three shifts available. The Distribution Event is held at the La Crosse Center. Besides school supplies, Catholic Charities has partnered with area organizations to also have resources available for other needs families might have. Thank you for considering! What can you get for US$100 dollars these days? A pair of shoes, a nice dinner for two or maybe a stove for a needy family in rural Guatemala? A contribution of US$100 to the Annual Fund allows so much more through Our Rotary Foundation. It is as simple as having a notebook, pencil and glue. In Pavas, a poor district in San Jose, Costa Rica a packet of educational materials means the difference between an education and working on the street. Most public schools in Costa Rica are under funded and lack many basic supplies, so the Rohrmoser Rotary Club, Costa Rica developed a packet of teaching materials for students and partnered with the Vancouver Rotary Club, Canada to distribute 777 packets to children in five very poor elementary schools. US$100 buys 15 packets. Without this project many students would not be able to continue their education and would be forced to drop out of school.
