Ongoing Service Projects
in our
 La Crosse Area Community

Come for Supper:  Meals are served at 5:00 p.m. every Tuesday of the year in Our Savior’s Lutheran Church Fellowship Hall.  Every other month the fourth Tuesday of the month our club helps serves these meals.  (January, March, May, July, September, November. ) We send six volunteers. Volunteers arrive at 4:30 and we are usually done by 6:30. Volunteers can sign-up online...under Upcoming Events.

Salvation Army Bell Ringing: The Salvation Army Bell Ringing Committee organizes a day in December that Rotarians support this project by ringing bells at various locations in the La Crosse/Onalaska community. Contact the chair Sean Henneman for more information.

Mobile Meals:  Our Mobile Meals Committee delivers meals to the homebound each month.  Mike Desmond, chairperson sends out the schedule for the month to his committee members to volunteer   The committee's purpose is to serve those less fortunate than us who have difficulty preparing a meal or leaving their homes or apartments to get a meal. Many of the meal recipients are very lonely.  A visit from a Rotarian delivering their meal may be their own human contact for the entire day.  Each of the committee members has their own stories to tell how they have befriended a meal recipient.  It's in those stories that lie the most rewarding aspect of Mobile Meal delivery.  Contact the chair, Mike Desmond for more information.

iFeed:  iFeed is a one-day event where over 50,000 dried meals are packed and boxed, ready for shipment to a country where children are hungry.  It's also a one-day all-Coulee Region food drive to fill area food pantries.  iFeed is a joint service project of the area Interact Clubs and the La Crosse Area Rotary Clubs as an extension of Rotary Lights Food collections.

Rotary Lights: Rotary Lights is an annual gift to the Coulee Region as a cooperative effort among the area's Rotary Clubs, numerous other non-profit groups and volunteer organizations, sponsors, and last but not least - the amazing individuals that make up our Steering Committee and Board. This annual display began in the year of 1995 and has grown tremendously since then due to the fantastic support from the greater La Crosse community.  Nearly 200,000 visitors per year enjoy this holiday tradition while driving, walking or taking a carriage ride through Riverside Park.  Our club volunteers opening night which is the Friday after Thanksgiving.
