La Crosse Area STAR Program

The STAR (Specialized Training for Action in Rotary) Program was created in 1976 by the Rotary Club of El Paso, Texas. New Members were required to attend a month breakfast meeting every month except in December. Among the topics covered were the Four Avenues of Services. The Rotary Foundation, Rotary International programs and club history. No make-up credit was given for attending these sessions.
Our STAR program is slightly different. We meet for a light breakfast only six times during the year and you may receive a make-up for attending these sessions. We intend to provide programs on the Seven Areas of Focus, The Rotary Foundation and the Rotary Works Foundation, along with other aspects of Rotary. Each of you is expected to attend the next six meetings following your orientation. All new Rotarians are considered a member of STAR for their first year.

We meet on the second Thursday of the following months: January, March, May, July, September and November. The meeting is at 7:00 a.m at the Capella Performing Arts building at 721 King Street (DOOR D off 8th Street) Complimentary beverages and breakfast treats will be served.
