La Crosse Area STAR Program
The STAR (Specialized Training for Action in Rotary) Program was created in 1976 by the Rotary Club of El Paso, Texas.  New Members were required to attend a month breakfast meeting every month except in December.  Among the topics covered were the Four Avenues of Services.  The Rotary Foundation, Rotary International programs and club history.  No make-up credit was given for attending these sessions.
Our STAR program is slightly different.  We meet for breakfast only six times during the year and you may receive a make-up for attending these sessions.  We intend to provide programs on the Six Areas of Focus, The Rotary Foundation and the Rotary Works Foundation, along with other aspects of Rotary.  Each of you is expected to attend the next six meetings following your orientation.  All new Rotarians are considered a member of STAR for their first year.
We meet on the second Thursday of the following months: January, March, May, July, September and November. The meeting is at 7:00 a.m. at the Radisson Hotel 200 Harborview Plaza, La Crosse.  A complimentary breakfast will be served.  Due to Covid-19 we will be meeting on Zoom until further notice.
