Welcome
Welcome to the Rotary Club of La Crosse! We are so excited that you've decided to become a member of our club and a member of the worldwide Rotary community.
Service Above Self
We look forward to your active engagement within our Club. As a service-oriented Club, we have and will continue to do great things within our community and our world. As a new member, please know that we have dozens of ways for you to get involved within our Club and the community at large as soon as you are ready. What's more, if you have an idea for a service project, we encourage you to propose it! Please know that the Board of Directors approved your membership application because we believe that your talents will make us an even better Club.
STAR ‘Special Training for Action in Rotary’ Meetings
There is a lot to learn about our Club and Rotary International. Our Club holds six STAR (‘Special Training for Action in Rotary’) meetings per year to help with your transition as a new member into our Club. STAR is designed to provide a foundational understanding of Rotary. STAR is composed entirely of new members and is open to new Rotarians from each of our local area clubs. Each STAR session offers a topic that will deepen your understanding of Rotary from a local, national, and international perspective. We encourage you to attend. An updated schedule is coming soon.
Badges
Upon joining, you were issued a “Red” badge with your name on it. A checklist has been put together with items for you to complete. The purpose of these items is to better familiarize yourself with Club members, committees and other opportunities that we offer. Once you complete at least five of these activities, you will transition to a “Blue” badge. The complete list of items from which you may choose is available in the packet under the name “New Member Expectations Checklist.” Working through these activities is a good way to learn more about Rotary and to begin to know your fellow club members. We sincerely hope that you will earn your “Blue” badge within five months of joining.
Rotary’s offerings in service, camaraderie and networking opportunities are unparalleled. While it is up to you to make the most of your membership and to find your niche within the Club, we are here to help. If you have any questions, comments and/or concerns, please contact your sponsor, our Club Administrator Niki Pohnl, or any of the Board of Directors.

Since 1919, the Rotary Club of La Crosse has worked to provide service to others, while maintaining camaraderie & fellowship among our members.
When our Rotary Club of Crosse was chartered on June 1, 1919, those visionary members set out to provide service to others, promote integrity and advance world understanding, goodwill and peace through the fellowship of business, professional and community leaders. For the past 100+ years, our club has fervently worked toward accomplishing this mission and much more. As Rotarians, we frequently do not seek recognition for our good works. As people of action, we will continue to influence our communities for the remainder of this century and beyond.
