Every year our club helps to fund our president's trip to the Rotary International Conference. This year Tami went to Hamburg, Germany and had the good fortune to take her family with her to celebrate her 25 years of marriage to Brian. She gave a heartfelt message to all of us of how you can go anywhere in the world and you will be with a Rotary friend. If you want to get inspired and make new friends....you should attend a Rotary International Conference or closer to home a District Conference. Tami introduced her 2019-20 Board of Directors....you can view the board and our representatives on the Rotary Works Board on our website's home page at www.rotarycluboflacrosse.org
Watch for a quote from Tami each week in our newsletter.
Hello! Let me introduce myself, I am Tami Woods, 2019-2020 President of the Rotary Club of La Crosse. I have been a Rotarian since 2009 and am excited about my future with Rotary! My husband Brian (“Woody”) and I have been married for 25 years and we have two sons, Max (18) and Jake (21). The year begins with the new Rotary theme, “Rotary Connects the World”. After attending my first International Rotary Convention in Hamburg Germany, I experienced what this means in many ways. Rotarians have a special connection, it truly is an extended family.
My profession is the Director of Catering for the Radisson Hotel, my areas of focus are managing and building talent in our catering operations team and I specialize in corporate accounts and convention services, the largest being the Organic Farming Conference which brings 3,500 guests to our wonderful city every February. I love hospitality, making events happen and exceeding guest expectations are always a priority to keep them coming back. Our catering team also means so much to me, they are truly the ones that make every event happen.
Some of my hobbies are riding motorcycle with my husband, volunteering, running, working out, cooking, wine tasting, watching movies, reading and spending quality time with my family and friends. I love inspirational quotes and will be sharing a quote a week in our newsletter. Please feel free to share some of your favorites too!
I look forward to “connect” with our fellow Rotarians in our club, hoping to get to know a little more about each one of you. Cheers!
