This Week:  Kelly Krieg-Sigman
                    Dark Nights in La Crosse
A DECADE OF DARKNESS.  In 2013, the La Crosse Public Library Archives department launched the very first Dark La Crosse walking tour, which featured a variety of stories exploring notorious incidents from our city’s history.  Since then, the walking tour has been expanded into a stage production, a video series collaboration with the La Crosse Tribune, a TV series ("Rivertown") collaboration with FOX 25/48, and a trolley tour that is a staple of the Explore La Crosse trolley tour options in the summer.  Archivist Scott Brouwer will share the impetus behind this ongoing project, some of the original stories, and plans for the future.
Last Week: Kahya Fox, Habitat for Humanity and the Big Bike Rally
Kahya Fox, Executive Director of La Crosse Area Habitat for Humanity, gave an update on the progress the organization has made in the community in the last year.

Under her leadership as Executive Director, the organization will complete nine homes in 2023 in partnership with qualified low income families who purchase their homes with a no interest mortgage and sweat equity.

Kahya brought us up to date on the latest activities of La Crosse Area Habitat including their role hosting the first ever Bike Build Home 500 five day fundraising bike ride in July.

Our club's Humanitarian Committee and Cooking fellowship will be volunteering to serve breakfast for one day of the ride on Saturday July 15. Watch for more details on how to participate.
