Take a peek behind the curtain of the La Crosse Community Theatre (LCT) Expansion Project as Erik provides an in-depth look at the reasons behind LCT's need for growth and how it aligns with their mission to better serve the community. The presentation will cover the key steps taken to reach this stage of the project, highlight significant accomplishments to date, and offer insight into future plans. Attendees will gain a clear understanding of the project's vision and its potential impact on both LCT and the wider community.
The United Fund for the Arts and Humanities (UFAH) was founded in 1983 to campaign on behalf of its twelve non-profit members to support a diverse and large offering of arts and culture events in La Crosse and its surrounding area. It’s unique purpose is to provide an easy opportunity for businesses to invest in the programs of our local Arts and Humanities organizations. UFAH has been extremely efficient in its mission. Due to its lean structure, 93% of funds raised are ‘passed through’ to our membership organizations. In today’s presentation, we will be able to meet the organizations participating in UFAH and get a glimpse of their activities. It has been well documented that a wide range of cultural offerings bring people (quality employees) to our area, and support businesses through visitors and tourists partaking in these events. UFAH strives to be even more successful in supporting its members by pooling resources that facilitate our membership organizations to focus on their objectives.

Welcome to Week 2 of RI’s Rotary Foundation Month.
The news this week is from Scotland where members of Greenock Rotary Club are helping Ukrainian refugees find their feet in Inverclyde by donating £1,000 of gift vouchers for them to use at local stores. The Greenock Telegraph reports that John Waddell, chairman of Rotary's West of Scotland District Foundation, presented the coupons to Karen Haldane of the community care group Your Voice, who have been helping the people resettling there. A spokesperson for the organization said: "As a result of the war in Ukraine, many women and children have fled from their country, seeking refuge and safety, leaving their husbands and sons behind to defend their homeland. Often, they escape with little more than the clothes they are wearing. Inverclyde has been delighted to welcome some of these people and provide
them with the shelter they are seeking."
The donation is part of a £20,000 grant given to the west of Scotland region by the Rotary International Disaster Response Fund to help local refugees.
The first Rotary International convention held outside the United States was in Edinburgh, Scotland, in 1921.
There are 3 districts and 200 Rotary Clubs in Scotland.
