In our discussion, we will reimagine the Four-Way Test and use it to evaluate the things we do not think, say, or do.
Terry Glenn Lilley is an Associate Professor and Chair of the Department of Race, Gender, and Sexuality Studies at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse. His research and teaching focus on public policy and collective movements related to a variety of social justice issues.

2023-2024 Rotarian of the Year
Congratulations to Julia Behrenbeck, our 2023-2024 Rotarian of the Year!
Julia was Youth Exchange Officer for Jaakko this year. She accomplished this role to its fullest making Jaakko's exchange smooth and welcoming. In January Jim Salmo resigned as Youth Exchange Officer as he was moving out of town. Julia took on the role of Youth Exchange Officer - did all the training - and extensive amount of work while maintaining her Youth Exchange Counselor roles in the transition. Julia has exemplified service above self in this rotary year and our youth exchange program is still solid because of her.
Jaakko Leaves Wednesday
If you are interested/available to see Jaakko off to Finland, his flight leaves this Wednesday at 4:30pm. He will be at the airport around 1:30pm. Stop out to say goodbye if you can!

HOSTS NEEDED FOR FILIPINO GUESTS
A contingent of 12 very active Rotarians arrives Tues. Sept 24 from the central part of the Philippines, District 3850, in the return of a Rotary Friendship Exchange.. Among them are hosts for Mark and Sharon Jolivette in May. There are both men and women in the group, including a past district governor, attorney, architects, call center owner, educator, doctor and a number of club presidents. They speak English well, will be with us until Sunday September 29, and will expand and grow our world understanding of Rotary. We have hosts for 3 in the group already. Community Ambassadorship - Viking Cruises
Viking River Cruises has three new shore excursions in La Crosse for their guests this season. Each needs a local host/ambassador to accompany the guests on the motorcoach. The three excursions are: (1) The Dahl Auto Museum tour and Antique Car Ride; (2) The Guadalupe Shrine tour; and (3) the Taste of La Crosse + Rivoli Theater tour. Between August and October, Dahl Auto Museum and the Guadalupe Shrine will each be visited 10 times; the Taste of La Crosse/Rivoli Theater tour will occur 3 times.
What are the specific duties & expectations?
Greet the guests at their coach down on the levee where the ship will be docked.
Wear your Rotary badge to identify yourself; dress in business casual and/or Rotary garb.
Introduce yourself to the coach driver, and deliver clear driving directions to him/her once you leave.
Follow the script that will be provided, but feel free to add any additional information or personal anecdotes you may have about life in La Crosse.
Represent our city and our club in a positive way.
Behave as if you were hosting an informal reception at your home. Make everyone feel welcome.
Join Rotary After Hours for a Night at the Loggers! Thursday, July 18th. 5:30pm/all you can eat and gate open with the game beginning at 630pm.
We will be on the Interstate Roofing Deck! Please invite friends, family, and other Rotarians. We can have up to 100 people and would be great to have a lot of new and familiar faces joining us!
Adults: $35 per person (food, ticket and (3) beers)
Kids: $15 per person (includes game ticket, all you can eat food! Ages 0-3 are FREE and 4-18 are $15.00)

This week’s report is a message from Rotary Foundation’s new chair of Trustees, Mark Daniel Maloney, who reminds 1.4 million Rotarians that they are the machine that runs the successful engine called TRF:
“You, as a member of Rotary, are also a part of The Rotary Foundation. You are part of a worldwide movement that implements global grants to build sustainable systems for clean water and sanitation where there are none. You help train peacebuilders in a world plagued by unrest. And through supporting the Foundation, you help people rebuild their lives after natural disasters. But let’s remember that magic doesn’t happen on its own, which is why I am counting on your support and engagement this year. To accomplish more good throughout the world, the Foundation trustees have set an ambitious fundraising goal of $500 million for 2024-25. Achieving this goal will require the support of everyone reading this message. It will also help us reach our goal of building the Endowment Fund to $2.025 billion by 2025. To help us keep financial support of the Foundation at the forefront throughout this year, I have developed Mark’s Magical Markers — a set of specific targets to help us achieve our overall goals. The first Magical Marker focuses on personal commitment, particularly to the Annual Fund, which supports the grants, scholarships, and vocational training teams that make the magic happen. Please
