In this presentation we will explore the heart and soul of an organization – company culture. We hear the word “culture” being thrown around a lot these days, but what exactly does it mean? And more importantly, how does it shape the employee experience and success of a company overall. In my experience, it’s a total game changer. Please join me for this presentation as I bring to life the best-in-class company culture of Festival Foods.
Intro
Dani Stuhr obtained her Associate’s Degree through Western and secured a job in Human Resources right away. She later began working toward her Bachelor’s Degree from UW-Stout in Management with an emphasis in Human Resources. That additional education and work experience at Festival confirmed what she already knew, that Human Resources was her calling.
In total, Dani has 13 years of progressive HR experience. After working in the construction industry for a couple years, Dani joined the HR team at Festival and truly found her home. She is currently the HR Assistant Director for Festival Foods and co-leads a team of 34 HR Managers across the state of WI. Additionally, she serves as the College Relations Chair for the Society for Human Resources Management and is pursing President Elect in 2020.

Part 2) Food items collected from the hundreds of food drives held from September-November at many local businesses, churches, schools, etc will be brought to Logan High School where we’ll sort, count and then give to the La Crosse Hunger Task Force for distribution to all local food pantries. Because of the surge in new polio cases in Afghanistan and Pakistan, the Indian Government has announced they will hold one Polio National Immunization Day (NID) in mid-January 2020. This will likely be the last time a Rotarian can participate in an Indian Polio NID.
There is limited amount of space and we expect the NID trip to be filled within the next few weeks. Many Rotarians have enquired over the years on how they too can participate in an NID trip. This is their chance! Please let everyone know in your club about this life-changing opportunity!
Rotarians will travel to Delhi, India, where they will participate in the polio NID activities and attend other related Rotary events. The trip includes travel to Agra to visit the Taj Mahal, and Jaipur to visit the famous Rotary Jaipur Limb Factory.
Date of Departure: Friday, January 10, 2020
Date of Return: Tuesday, January 21, 2020
Per Person Costs based on double occupancy is $2,499 which includes
hotels transfers, Rotary events, participation in the NID activities,
most meals, sightseeing.
The above price does not include international roundtrip airfare or Indian Visa fees
The group size will be limited and confirmation in the program is on a first-come, first-served basis. Those who are planning to join us should take immediate action. Over the last two years, this program sold out in less than two weeks.
Click here for an informational document, including application. The material is also available on the Howard Tour's website.
If you are interested and would like to talk to others that have participated in a NID trip through Howard Tour's, members from our club are Sharon Imes, Dean Dickinson, Todd Restel and Patt Boge would be willing to share their experiences.

Would your family or business let to volunteer to help at Rotary Lights and monitor one of the "smore nights?" Here is the list of open days to date. If you would like to volunteer, contact Pat Stephens. Great opportunity for a makeup and to engage your family or business in Rotary Lights!! Here are some of the details.
Fires and s’mores are subject to weather conditions
We ask each group to have a minimum of four people on duty to monitor the fire and help with making s’mores. There is a warming house next to the fire for rotation purposes.
We prefer a 5:30 pm start and wrap up by 8:30 pm whenever possible
There is meant to be one (1) free s’more for each guest
All materials supplied. Fire will be ready to go for you by 5:30 pm.
Start time will be 8:00 am with a short orientation and safety run through. Lunch will be at 11:30 am and then the end time is 3:30 pm.
All volunteers should dress appropriately for the weather and wear closed toed shoes on the construction site. They won't have individual plastic bottles available, but they do have jugs of water ready. So everyone will want to bring a water bottle for the day. At the moment they’re not quite sure what we'll be working on yet, however we’ll find out the week before and let everyone know.
Please contact Dean if you have children, grandchildren, friends, etc. that would be willing to entertain us on Thursday, December 19th. They would need to be there between 12 and 1 that day. Contact Dean for more information.
