This Week: Panel Presentation on Innovative Child Care Solutions
Like communities across the country, the lack of child care has been such a challenge for both parents who want to work and employers who want to hire them. The La Crosse area is unique because local thought-leaders have implemented creative solutions that are increasing child care availability. A panel of representatives from The Parenting Place, VARC and La Crosse County Human Services will share their innovative approaches that are addressing the need for accessible child care in La Crosse County.

Club Fruit Box Fundraiser - Sales end Friday!
This is your last week to order fruit boxes!
All proceeds go to the Rotary Club of La Crosse and are used to support a wide variety of activities and initiatives.
Each box contains 8 apples, 4 oranges, 4 pears, and a bag of nuts. Fruit is packed in elegant and sturdy white boxes.
Pick up your boxes on Sat. December 14th or Monday, December 16th, or we will deliver to within a 20 mile radius of La Crosse!
Rotary Club of La Crosse-Downtown Rotarians: you are required to purchase 5 fruit boxes OR you may choose the $100 buy-out. If you wish to donate your fruit boxes to a nonprofit, simply note the appropriate delivery address in the field provided.

Dec. 19 is the annual Winter Wonderland Youth Talent Showcase! If you have a young performer who is willing to share their musical or dance talent in exchange for getting out of school for a bit and a delicious meal, reach out to Katie Berkedal with the student's name and musical choice as soon as possible.
Rotary Friendship Exchange - Turkey
District 6250 maintains a strong Rotary Friendship Exchange (RFE) program, welcoming several inbound exchanges. This program focuses on fostering new friendships and overcoming cultural barriers, encouraging participants to act as ambassadors for their clubs and countries, resulting in a vibrant mix of fun and cultural exchange!

Welcome to Week ONE of RI’s Month of Disease Prevention & Treatment.
Happy Thanksgiving to all Rotarians who observe this holiday. Hope this year’s
reunion has been pleasant? The first Tuesday after the U.S Thanksgiving Day is
observed world-wide as The Giving Tuesday. Giving Tuesday was created in 2012 as a simple idea: a day that encourages people to do good. Since then, it has grown into a year-round global movement that inspires hundreds of millions of people to give, collaborate, and celebrate generosity.
In the Rotary world, The Rotary Foundation received more than US$1.3 million on and around Giving Tuesday, with more than 2,600 donations made from 82 countries in less than 48 hours. More than 1,580 clubs had at least one member who gave, and the average total donated per club was US$567. The ideals of Giving Tuesday tallies nicely with TRF’s mission of doing good by advancing world understanding, goodwill and peace. Giving Tuesday’s concept of Radical Generosity explains how the suffering of others should be intolerable to us as our own suffering, and that, “whether it’s making someone smile, helping a neighbor or stranger out, showing up for an issue or people we care about, or giving some of what we have to those who need our help, every act of generosity counts, and everyone has something to give.” Still wondering why TRF needs more charitable givers? Could it be because of any, and all, of the following reasons proudly listed by TRF:
