We fully believe that a bed is a basic need for the proper physical, emotional, and mental support that a child needs.
All children deserve a safe, comfortable place to lay their heads. Across the U.S., too many boys and girls go without a bed – or even a pillow – to sleep on. These children end up sleeping on couches, blankets, and even floors, which can affect their happiness and health.
That’s where Sleep in Heavenly Peace comes in. We’re a group of volunteers dedicated to building, assembling and delivering top-notch bunk beds to children and families in need.
Last Week: The Adventures of a La Crosse Area Tour Guide
Between the months of July and October 2023, over 2200 people toured La Crosse on motorcoaches as part of their Viking River Cruise experience.
On top of that, another few hundred visited our city from other cruise lines, private motorcoach tours, and specialty tours offered by Explore La Crosse.
What do they see? How is the story of our city told?
Kelly Krieg-Sigman, Julie Keitel, and Margaret Lichter shared their experience of being a tour guide, the reactions to our city from the guests they see, the kinds of questions they receive, and the unbelievably high importance of well-located restrooms!

The Odd Couple - Thursday, March 14th

Our club will be the ushers for tonight's performance of The Odd Couple. Volunteer opportunities include taking tickets, helping with seating, handing out programs, 50/50 raffle ticket sellers, and Will Call ticket distribution. Attire: Rotary volunteer t-shirt. Come out and support the La Crosse Community Theater! Volunteers see the show for FREE this evening!

Welcome to Week ONE of RI’s Month of Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene
It seems appropriate to commence the Water, Sanitation and Hygiene month with this report from UNESCO’s Institute for Water Education with this announcement of a Rotary Foundation sponsored Global Scholarship. According to the report published online at https://www.un-ihe.org/education/master-programmes/rotary-scholarships-water-and-sanitation-professionals, the strategic partnership between The Rotary Foundation (TRF) and IHE Delft Institute for Water Education aims to tackle the world’s water and sanitation crisis by increasing the number of trained professionals to devise, plan, and implement solutions in developing and emerging countries.
Through this partnership, scholarships are awarded annually for graduate students at IHE Delft’s campus in the Netherlands. These scholarships are designed to promote long-term productive relationships between Rotarians and highly skilled water and sanitation professionals in their communities. Since the inception of the partnership in 2012, over 165 scholarships have been awarded. Recipients of this Rotary scholarship will benefit from the support they receive through regular contact with sponsor Rotarians from their home country and the opportunity to interact with Rotarians in the Netherlands.
Rotary alumni constitute an extensive network of Rotary scholarship recipients and Rotarians worldwide. Becoming involved with a local Rotary Club and the alumni association allows scholars to stay connected to Rotary’s global community and resources. Students admitted to IHE Delft Institute for Water Education’s Master of Science program in Water and Sustainable Development (68EC) can be nominated by a local Rotary Club in their home community by submitting the application form for a scholarship to the Rotary/IHE Delft committee in the Netherlands, together with the student’s resume and the IHE Delft admission letter. The news this week, in an online report by Arnold R. Grahl, highlights the continued effort of TRF to lighten the burden of victims of devastating disasters.
