The committee has recommended that we be a partner with the Tirunveli Rotary Club of South India to participate in a Global Grant to provide toilets for an neighborhood in Padmadai village Tamilnadu, India.. The Tirunveli Club has asked us to provide $5000. Our Club Board approved the project.
Thank you to all who donated....they reached their goal of $5,000.
If people who could not make the fundraiser still want to support the project, they can send checks made out to Rotary Works, India Toilet project, to Sondra LeGrand 2105 S 30th Lacrosse WI 54601.
The next step will be to get a District match. Tirunveli is doing the same in India and then they will apply to Rotary International for the Global Grant.

Help make a lasting contribution to the La Crosse area by volunteering to ring bells and raise funds for the Salvation Army. Greet holiday shoppers and help spread Christmas cheer while accepting donations in the Famous Red Kettle.The money raised stays in our community, supporting the Salvation Army Food Pantry, Meal Program, Emergency Shelter, Families in Need, Sending Kids to Camp, and so much more.

It is time to VOLUNTEER to help out at Rotary Lights. Our club will again be there for opening night..Friday, November 24th..we have two shifts...4:30-7:30 and 7:30-10:20. We need a minimum of 25 for the first shift and 20 for the second shift. Click here to volunteer.
Fruit Baskets: Our annual Fruit Basket Fundraiser is only weeks away. We will be taking orders for fruit baskets starting in October......for delivery on Saturday, December 9th and Monday, December 11th. Think Holiday Gift giving ....they make great employee gifts....see if your employer would be interested in supporting our fruit basket sale. We will be making a slight change to the baskets this year....NO grapefruit. We will increase the oranges and get another variety of apples.
We will assemble baskets at the Rotary Light House, 27 Market Street, La Crosse on Saturday, December 9th. We will need a crew for set-up, basket assembly and basket delivery on Saturday. On Monday, December 11th we will need members to deliver baskets.
“Best of all possible worlds” says co-chair David Amborn, “members lend a hand with assembly or delivery and then take their personal baskets home with them. It’s beneficial to all concerned.”

Katie Shephardson received the Rotary Global Award. Read on Katie's blog about the Rotary Global Award and how Katie with the help of Rotarian Bruce Swanwick applied and was awarded the Rotary Global Grant. Corporate Membership is a program to allow multiple employees of a business Rotary participation under one primary membership. Each corporate membership is limited to a three-year term. After the three-year corporate membership term, the individuals are required to become individual members. View Corporate Membership Policy.
Family Membership is a program to allow a second individual Rotary participation under one primary membership. View Family Membership Policy.
Honorary Membership is offered to members who have distinguished themselves by meritorious service in the furtherance of Rotary ideals. View Honorary Membership Policy.
Excused Membership is offered to members if the aggregate of the member’s years of age and years of membership in one or more clubs is 85 years or more, the member has been a member of one or more clubs for at least 20 years, and the member has notified the club's secretary in writing of the member’s desire to be excused from attendance and the board has approved. Excused Members will pay the quarterly dues of $70 and only for meals when they attend a meeting.
Membership Proposals....we will no longer ask for three references when you propose a new member. This was a criteria that our club had set not RI.
