Rotary Club of La Crosse Committee Awareness and Work Day

We have exciting news.  For our April 1st meeting, we are going to allow time for committees to meet.  We’re going to do our normal introductions and announcements and then split into breakout groups.  We’re going to have two sessions. Some committees will fall in the first session and some in the second.

Session 1: Pick one.
  • Wine Fundraiser -  President Andrew came up with a great idea for a new fundraiser since we were not able to do fruit baskets this year.  Hear his idea and give input or offer to help.
  • New Normal  - This group generates ideas while in the virtual world. They are also forming a plan for when and how we might transition back.  Give feedback or be part of the transition.
  • DEI-Diversity, Equity & Inclusion - From Rotary International: We're creating an organization that is more open and inclusive, fair to all, builds goodwill, and benefits our communities. We want people with differing perspectives and ideas who will help Rotary take action to create lasting change in communities around the world. https://www.rotary.org/en/about-rotary/diversity-equity-and-inclusion  Do you want to join in this effort for our club and our community? Check out the DEI Committee during a breakout at the April 1 meeting.
  • Youth Committee - The Youth Committee has and continues to offer ways for outstanding youth to be recognized in our community. They also link them with opportunities.  See what they have in store.
  • Mobile Meals - In 2020 Downtown Rotary delivered approximately 1,260 meals. Our Rotary Club helps one week a month.  See what an impact this makes and how you can be part of the force.
Session 2: Pick one.
  • Fellowship/Vocational Training - See what neat projects we've done in the past and what we may do in the future.
  • Humanitarian - Do you wish you could do more in our community to help those in need? The Humanitarian Committee might be right for you. Help with clothing and blood drives. Find ways to support the vulnerable populations in our area.
  • Environmental Committee - Be part of A MAJOR change AT ROTARY INTERNATIONAL:  The Environment became Rotary’s 7th Area of Focus in 2020! You’ll see the impactful projects being done worldwide and see what we’re doing locally.  This is a great way to be a part of something bigger than our club
  • Interact Committee - Interact is Rotary International's service club for young people ages 14-18.  Interact clubs are sponsored by individual Rotary clubs, which provide support and guidance.
  • Annual Support - Check out how this great committee raises amazing amounts of support for our club.

During the session, we’re hoping that you (or a co-chair or leaders within the committee) could give a brief intro entailing:

  • What your committee typically does
  • When your committee has been meeting (or did before COVID)
  • Introduce something that you are deciding, planning or looking for suggestions on
  • Allow time for questions

We’re hoping this will allow people who are new or who do not know about a specific committee to check it out. And, we’re hoping it will help reboot any committees that have been taking breaks during COVID.
