6250 District Governor Scott Ryan Sep. 24, 2026

Scott was accepted as a Rotarian on December 3, 2008.  He has held several roles in his club, particularly in the area of youth development, serving as Holmen Area Youth Exchange Officer and Holmen High School Interact Advisor. However, if you ask his friends when he “became” a Rotarian, it was four years later when he and members of the Holmen Area Rotary Club traveled to Peru to deliver bio-sand water filters to families living on an active garbage landfill and drinking contaminated water out of the Rimac River. For the cost of a good pair of shoes this filter could prevent disease and save lives for a family of nine. It was at that point Rotary opened his eyes and heart and empowered him to believe that a single person can make a difference with the dedicated support of 1.2 million members devoted to making a world better for everyone.

Another Rotary gift he has received is the confidence from District 6250 to serve as District Governor Nominee Elect and eventually as District Governor. When he is not doing something Rotary related, he owns and operates a family business selling manufactured homes and managing several manufactured home communities in the LaCrosse area. His family includes 3 adult children and his wife of over 33 years, Mary. In addition to any family event, the Ryan’s enjoy traveling anywhere in the world and sharing a meal or libation over a game of cards with friends and family.

Rotary has made him a better person, business owner, husband, father and friend. He is humbled and excited to be asked to serve in this leadership role for District 6250. Let’s make the world better…together!

Sing!
Dr. Gary Kent Walth Sing! Oct. 01, 2026

HOW MANY OF YOU WERE TOLD NOT TO SING BY A SIBLING, FFRIEND OR OTHER SO-CALLED “VOCAL EXPERT?”  They probably said, "You couldn’t hold a tune in a bucket" or "you should sing 'solo', so low that no one can hear you!"  To counter devastating remarks such as these, my interactive demonstration will encourage beginning singers and will offer RENEWED CONFIDENCE to everyone in our Club!

After briefly highlighting several of the many proven physical, intellectual medical and psychological benefits of singing together, we  will relearn proper singing posture and successful breathing techniques that are essential for good singing. Next we will promote the vital process of “matching pitches” in unison or in octaves.

We will conclude our presentation by singing the very popular African folk song, “The Lion Sleeps Tonight” in 3-4 part harmony.

DEI Committee: Belonging Together Oct. 08, 2026

Join members of the Rotary DEI Committee for an interactive program focused on strengthening the relationships that make our club special. Through a series of engaging activities and conversations, participants will have the opportunity to learn more about one another, discover shared experiences, appreciate the unique perspectives each member brings, and explore ways to ensure our club remains a welcoming place for all.

Together, we'll reflect on what helps people feel connected, valued, and engaged, while building on Rotary's long tradition of fellowship, service, and community. The session is designed to be fun, thoughtful, and participatory, with practical ideas for continuing to make our club a place where everyone feels they belong.

Presenters: Lauren Journot, Anna Sprague, Andy Bakkum, Jodie Visker, Nell Saunders-Scott, Travis Bordeau, Katie Berkedal

Classification Talk: Rob Grover Nov. 05, 2026
When Rotary was established by Paul Harris and three others, each person came from a different walk of life. This diversity is a cornerstone of Rotary. The intent is to have a cross-section of business and professional experiences in your community.

For decades Rotary International listed a range of professional “classifications” and restricted how many representatives of each could be in a club. This ensures that each club reflects the community in which it serves. It also reminds us to not have one profession as a dominant voice in our club. Over time, these restrictions have pretty much given way, but your classification continues to be of great interest to your fellow club members. That’s why your Rotary badge carries your name and your classification.

Classification talks help us learn about the life experiences and professional backgrounds of new members.
