THIS WEEK AT ROTARY
This week at Rotary we will have one of our favorite programs...a Classification Talk.  Join us to hear more about our member Tony Szak.
Tony joinTony Szaked our club on April 16, 2015.  Tony works for Market & Johnson in Business Development.  His classification is "Construction Management."

Anita will have her greeting cards available...remember Valentine's day is coming up. All proceeds benefit the Rotary Works Foundation.  Scrip cards will be for sale...we get 5% of sales and if you use the card for groceries we will get another 10%.  Thanks for supporting this fundraiser.

We will also welcome four new members to our club!

LAST WEEK AT ROTARY
Two of our Short Term Exchange Students  (STEP) spoke to the membership about their experiences.  Michael Davy and Brianne Ties both thanked the membership for giving them this opportunity.
Brianna Ties: is the daughter of Lynn & Steve Ties of Trempealeau, WI..  She exchanged with a family from Italy.  Michael Davy: is the son of Laura and Mark Davy of Onalaska, WI.  He exchanged with a family from France. Brianne and Michael embody what Rotary looks for in an exchange student: good character, a desire to live abroad and host in return, adaptable, mature and wanting to experience life in another country/culture.  Both students represented their families, their school, their country and Rotary District 6250 and our club very well.  They  are caring, adventurous and confident young adults who are grateful for their new experiences Rotary has given them.

More information on STEP is on our District 6250 web site....click here.

Rotarians in the News, thanks to Andy Bakkum was a "Blast from the Past."  Andy found a 1996 La Crosse Rotary Directory...you had to be there to enjoy his commentaries on the photos...click here to view those members who were good sports and had to pay fines!

COMMITTEES
COMMITTEES...We encourage all members to join at least one committee.  Committees help further the work of Rotary in our community and internationally.  Being part of a committee is the best way to get to know members, enjoy personal rewards and contribute to the success of Rotary.  This is a great opportunity to become involved and active.   Committee work is where you really get to know fellow Rotarians and share the fellowship that makes our club so special.  We have twenty-two committees and will have chair persons from each of these committees give a brief report at our upcoming meetings.  Please feel free to contact committee chairs or Lyn if you have any questions.

We have a Committee Page on our web site - committee descriptions, committee lists, sign up form, etc....click here to view.   Please review the lists....if you are not on a committee or would like to switch committees....please fill out the form and return to Lyn.
