The Logan Interact Students are having a Purple Pinkie Promise to End Polio event the week of March 21st at Logan High School. They are hoping to raise $1,000 to receive a Paul Harris Fellow and honor one of their Logan faculty members. They will be at our club this Thursday and for a minimum of $1.00 donation you can get your pinkie painted and donate to their great cause. We hope you will support YOUR Interact Students next week.
THIS WEEK AT ROTARY.....The Paul Harris Fellow Award is one of the highest honors Rotary can bestow upon a person. Recipients are Rotarians and community professionals in recognition of their outstanding contributions, exemplifying the highest ideal in Rotary in placing 'Service Above Self." Paul Harris Fellow is a person who has contributed, or in whose name a contribution of $US1000 has been made, to the Annual Programs Fund and certain other programs of The Rotary Foundation. Recognition of a Paul Harris Fellow is an opportunity to show appreciation for a person, either Rotarian or non-Rotarian, who shares the values of the Foundation.
Special Celebration on Thursday, March 24th
You will learn more about the Paul Harris Fellow.
Your Rotary International Donations make a difference in the world and community.

Foundation Quote for the Week
“Every gun that is made, every warship launched, every rocket fired signifies in the final sense, a theft from those who hunger and are not fed, those who are cold and not clothed. This world in arms is not spending money alone. It is spending the sweat of its laborers, the genius of its scientists, the hopes of its children. This is not a way of life in any true sense.” Dwight D. Eisenhower - 16 April 1953
Our Rotary Youth Exchange Student for 2016-17 will be Simran, a 16 year-old girl from India. We are excited to sponsor Simran while she is here. She likes to read, watch movies, cycle and draw. Simran is vice president of her school's Interact Club. She wishes to be a psychiatrist.
The Youth Exchange Committee is currently working to complete the application process for the three families who will host Simran in the Central High School district.
The Fellowship Committee invites you to a Rotary Fellowship on Tuesday, April 12th at Dublin Square, 103 3rd Street N from 5-7. PAST DUE ACCOUNTS: We have sent out past due statements last week by email and mail. If you received one we would appreciate your payment this week. We still have $10,000 outstanding and would hope that everyone has their account current by the end of the month. This past year members are being, I will say "forgetful" and not making payments in a timely manner. We will now have the sergeant-at-arms involved in tracking those members who are not current and sending out notices. We hope you will be kind enough to keep your account current so that we don't give our sergeant-at-arms, John Wettstein unnecessary extra work.
INFORMATIONAL: We send out invoices each quarter, January, April, July and October. We use the QuickBooks Program and you receive it by email...you can make a payment online through your bank account. You can not view your account online in ClubRunner. When invoices are sent out...Lyn will let everyone know that in the newsletter and the president will announce at the podium...this way in case your invoice did not make it to your inbox you can contact Lyn for a copy.

PRESENT FOR THE PRESIDENT....If you travel outside of our Rotary District, please consider bringing back a "Present for the President." These will not actually be for the president.... at the year-end Spring Social, the president will pick one item from all of those brought in during the year. The rest of the items go up for auction/raffle to raise some money or be used as raffle gifts throughout the year! A bottle of wine from a faraway place, a book, any memento or neat item that you can get through customs and not be really inconvenienced would be appreciated. If you don't know what to buy, and you're in that faraway place - seek out a Rotarian.
